Privacy Policy

When you create an account we collect your email address and (optionally) a display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile email. We store your AI chat messages and country comparison history to provide you with a personalised experience.

• To provide and improve the Taxminator service
• To send you product emails and, if you opted in, our weekly expat tax newsletter
• To analyse usage trends in aggregate (no individual profiling)
• To detect and prevent abuse of the platform

Your data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database provider with SOC 2 Type II compliance. Chat messages, comparisons, and account data are stored in databases located in the US or EU depending on your region. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Your chat messages are sent to our AI provider (currently Google Gemini via the Lovable AI Gateway) to generate responses. Messages are not stored by the AI provider beyond what is needed to generate the response. Please do not share sensitive personal financial information such as your Social Security Number, SIN, or bank account details in the chat.

We use session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We may use first-party analytics to understand which features are most used.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@taxminator.com. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email we send.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of Taxminator after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
